Location: Primarily field- and event-centered; some remote support work, and eventually in office

About the Campaign
The Sara Hernandez for State Senate campaign is a people-powered, community-rooted effort focused on housing affordability, public education, labor protections, healthcare access, climate justice, reproductive freedom, and accountable government. Interns play a hands-on role supporting field and event operations while gaining real-world experience in political organizing and campaign operations.
Responsibilities
- Support field and event activities, including canvassing, tabling, community events, and volunteer engagement
- Assist with event preparation and execution, including setup, check-in, materials, and follow-up
- Help with donor research and fundraising support, including list building, basic research, and contribution tracking assistance
- Complete remote support tasks such as data entry, list maintenance, and outreach preparation
- Represent the campaign professionally when interacting with voters, donors, volunteers, and community partners
Qualifications
- Interest in politics, public service, organizing, or public policy
- Comfortable engaging with voters and community members
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow through on assignments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Spanish or other language skills are a strong plus
- No prior campaign experience required
Schedule & Expectations
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week.
- Some flexibility required based on event and field schedules
- Interns must adhere to campaign confidentiality and conduct guidelines
