Writer / Social Media / Research Intern – PCIP Eligible
Work to Own seeks a talented and motivated Writer and Social Media Intern to help us create and curate captivating content for our social media platforms and the website. The intern should be passionate about social media and journalism. They should also be detail-oriented with a creative flare to drive traffic to Work to Own’s website and social media channels. The goal is to increase awareness of the nonprofit’s cutting-edge research in accelerating broad-based employee ownership in America. Time commitment would be 5-10 hours per week.
Qualifications
• Major in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Media, English, Creative Writing or a related field
• Experience creating and posting on a variety of social media channels
• Strong written and communication skills
• Experience with social media platforms and best practices
• Experience creating infographics and finding or creating visuals to accompany social media posts
• Passion for social media and staying up-to-date with the latest trends and developments
• Occasional website support
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Work to Own’s strategic communications, political affairs, and research team on creating compelling social media content, including Reels and Stories
• Pitch and write weekly social media content
• Curate content according to tone and audience of individual social platforms (i.e., X, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.)
• Create and edit short videos for TikTok, Instagram
• Schedule social media posts
• Monitor analytics and audience demographics
• Provide bi-weekly log of potential leads gathered through DMs, comments
• Promote Work to Own content
