Peer Advisors

Clare is a senior majoring in Public Policy Analysis with a politics concentration and a Religious
Studies minor from McLean, Virginia. She is interested in pursuing a career in political and
public policy research or nonprofit work. When she is not at the CDO, Clare is working for
Freedman Consulting, with the CMC Policy Lab, and volunteering for Small Claims Advisory
Services. In her free time, Clare loves to cook and craft!
Piece of Advice: The CDO has great interview resources from Big Interview to mock interviews
with staff, and student access to interview rooms that can be booked via appointment!

Daniel is a senior Economics and Math major from Phoenix. After graduation, he will be
starting a career in investment banking. When he’s not working at the CDO, Daniel enjoys
working out at the gym, watching basketball, and exploring new restaurants.

Piece of Advice: Be proactive in learning about the journeys of others at Pomona, whether
professors, peers, or the greater alumni network. You never know what will resonate with
you or inspire your own path.

Dicle (pronounced Deej-leh) is a junior from Eskisehir, Turkey, majoring in Neuroscience. She
hopes to pursue a career in the biomedical field, focusing on developing alternative treatments
for neurodegenerative diseases. On campus, Dicle is involved with the International Student
Mentorship Program, Health Bridges, and the Turkish Students Association. Outside of CDO,
you can find her at Seaver (always), diving into neuroscience research. You might also spot her
sipping an Americano in the Village. She loves sailing, skiing, and baking!
Piece of Advice: Take advantage of the Claremont Colleges network, connect with alumni and
professors, and explore Sagehen Connect! The CDO is always here to support you. Remember,
you are not alone; support is always within reach at Pomona!

Emily is a senior at Pomona from the Bay Area majoring in Economics, Cognitive Science, and
Art. She is interested in the tech industry and would love to pursue product management in the
future! Outside of the CDO, Emily is part of Graphite Group and Groove Nation, and can be
caught crafting in the HMC makerspace!
Piece of Advice: Explore your career by chatting with others in industry! Don’t be nervous —
everyone has been where you are at one point and are willing to help out and provide some
advice.

Josephine is a senior at Pomona majoring in Psychological Science and Linguistics. She joined
Pomona as a transfer student in her sophomore year, and calls Hong Kong and California home.
Josephine is interested in pursuing a career in education as a school counselor or student affairs
professional. Outside of the CDO, she works as a tour guide for the Office of Admissions, plays
violin in the Pomona College Orchestra, and assists with research on cultural psychology at the
CRAB Lab.
Piece of Advice: When planning your future career, take the time to reflect on your path so far.
Understanding your values, interests, and strengths can help you make informed decisions
about what types of organizations you want to work for and how to present yourself to
employers!

Kaixin is a junior studying Economics and Politics at Pomona College and calls Shanghai, China
her home. She hopes to pursue a career in finance after graduation and spent the past summer
interning in wealth management. Outside of the CDO, Kaixin is part of Sagehen Capital
Management where she is part of the Consumer team. In her free time, she enjoys going to the
beach to watch sunsets and watching political thriller TV shows.
Piece of Advice: Find out who you are, where you want to be, and who you want to surround
yourself with in the future.

Katie is a sophomore studying Politics and English and calls Boise, Idaho her home. She is
hoping to attend law school after her time at Pomona and is open to exploring many fields of
law. When she’s not working at the CDO, Katie is participating in Pomona’s Mock Trial Team,
writing for the Claremont Journal of Law and Public Policy, and volunteering for the Small
Claims Advisory Service. She also enjoys playing tennis, singing, learning Latin, and watching
basketball.

Lilian is a junior at Pomona College studying Economics and Data Science. She is originally from
Vancouver, Canada and plans to pursue a career in finance and real estate. When she is not at the CDO, you can catch Lilian on the hunt for good food and cafes.

Piece of Advice: My piece of advice is that it’s never too late or too early for anything, there’s always a next step that we can take and the CDO is here to help with that step!

Sarah is a member of the class of 2028 from the Philadelphia area, intending to major in Public
Policy Analysis with an economics concentration! She hopes to go into business strategy and
operations someday in the future. Outside of the CDO, Sarah spent the summer working for
the MLS team the Philadelphia Unio and is involved in Bridge USA, ASPC, and the TSL on
campus, along with being an avid food reviewer in her free time!
Piece of Advice: If she could give a piece of advice to other students as they navigate their
career path is by leveraging the Sagehen Alumni network – so many alumni are more than
happy to share about their journey, and it may give you some guidance in your own.
